Shoes

It’s essential to get a comfortable pair of shoes on your big day! It not only serves the purpose for walking but also the purpose of beautifying your pair of feet! I’m wearing size 3 shoes hence having difficulty for getting the right shoes that fit my small feet.

Initial my plan to get one custom made wedding shoe from loeandbehold.com however considering the price; I decided to put my custom made shoes on hold.

After several reading and research from the net, I finally come to know of Anna Nucci, that is a common and popular brand for brides.

This is the 1st pair of Anna Nucci shoes that I bought from Harbour Front’s Anna Nucci branch. The lady is helpful enough to suggest the kind of shoes that is suitable for my feet and also the kind of dress that I’m wearing that fits the design as well. Well usually brides will get dress first then consider getting shoes. However I’m getting my shoes first because I really fall in love with the pair of shoes that I saw. It’s so comfortable that I’m telling myself I must have it.

This is the 2nd pair of shoes that I purchase from Anna Nucci. It’s a pair of crystal high heels that I’m bringing it over to Taiwan for my wedding shot. This pair is not as comfortable as the 1st pair that I bought however it’s the brightness of the crystal that attracts me though the price is abit more pricy but I still get it. I had worn it once for a friend’s wedding and I’m receiving great comments about it.

Hand Bouquet

What kind of hand bouquet do you like? Shall the bride get the flowers that she likes or getting a hand bouquet that suits her wedding gown?
Blows are some of the hand bouquet designs that I had research on.

Ball of flowers is something unique too. Got this idea from some wedding bloggers however it’s time consuming hence I gave up the idea for preparing one.
Here are some steps for you to follow if you want to create one.

Step 1: You will need
A damp round ball of floristry foam measuring 20cm in diameter* 50 carnations* scissors* a ruler.

Step 2: Types of flower
Today we are using carnations but you can use any full bloomed flower.

Step 3: Cut Stems
Cut the stems with your scissors at 3cm. Always cut stems on an angle, to enable maximum water absorption.

Step 4: Arrange Flowers
Starting from the top, push the stem of your first flower into the oasis, ensuring it sinks all the way into the foam base. Continue in a straight line until the ball is ringed with flowers. Then make a line halfway around and fill in the quarters. Ensure the flowers are evenly placed with no gaps.

Step 5: Display
Gently place your ball of carnations in the middle of your table. This should make the perfect decoration for a table.

12.09.10 < OUR ROM DAY >

Now its time to comment on the overall presentation of my actual ROM day.
Hubby managed to get this little floral hand bouquet from market!!
HaHa WHY market? Cause it is cheaper and they are able to make the design that I wanted, so why not! It cost about $50 which is pretty cheap as we could get it online.

Tiny hand Bouquet

1st unpleasant issue with Swiss Merchant Court: It was stated very clearly in our contract agreement that I’m able to have an early check-in at 12 noon. However the reception told us that we had to wait till 3pm (their usual check-in timing)!
Well I was telling myself, I have to keep myself cool on my big day so that I can be a happy bride. However I so taken aback by that comment “CHECKS in at 3PM”.
I told the reception its impossible as my contract stated that I can check-in at 12noon and my makeup artist is coming at 2pm! How am I able to make it on time! And I insist them to phone the banquet executive. I’m sound stern and they quickly arrange a room at the club floor for me!
Finally get ourselves settled and bath. Finally my Make Up Artist (Sandy) arrived. She suggested using freesia as my hair floral decoration and indeed it turn out well and it is unique. Hubby help to pre order this flower from the same market florist.

Freesia

There comes the 2nd unpleasant issue, the poolside decorative is not being set up yet at 4pm! Apparently there are some mis-communication between SMC and their outsource florist. Our solemnization is starting at 5pm, my guests had all arrived at 4.15pm and the florist’s crews are still decorating the poolside.
Well my suggestions to all couples who planned to hold their solemnization at SMC poolside is to forgo the additional decorative. The additional decorative is done by SMC outsource florist and it bounce to have some delay here and there.
Another suggestion is to hold the solemnization ceremony at maybe 5.30pm to 6.30pm to avoid the griming sunset. But the banquet assistant manager mange to get the function room set-up soon and we manage to proceed to the function room earlier for our 8 course Chinese dinner. Well this is a plus point for SMC.

The dinner was pretty smooth expect that their food standard was not as good as expected. However the assistant banquet manger did a great job overseeing the entire process to assure that everything turns out well. We do have great feedback about the private function room as it was spacious enough to cater 3 tables of guests. We are all able to move around freely to take photos as well.

Perhaps you may make a guess what is the 3rd unpleasant issue we have with SMC? It’s the WEDDING FAVORS! Both hubby and myself are kinda of occupied with the entire solemnization ceremony hence we totally forgotten about our wedding favors that were supposed to be given to our guests. It is till late night in our hotel room then we recalled that SMC had forgotten to place the wedding favors at the dinner tables.

In the end I did feedback to my wedding coordinator of SMC about the bad experiences and also the wedding favors issue. In the end she compensated us with a free buffet dinner. To be honest, the buffet dinner isn’t that fantastic too.

Personal view about SMC, it wasn’t that bad however things don’t turn out as perfect as what I had expected. Overall staff’s performances are still at average level. Personally we don’t really like the taste of their Chinese food at all however the private function room is pretty cozy.
